Pleasure Yacht Registration

Leisure vessels or yachts can be registered under the Panama flag. Once an application to the Panama Maritime Authority has been made , all pleasure yachts will obtain a patent of navigation valid for 2 years.

To apply for a pleasure yacht registration, the applicants shall submit the following documents:

• A power of attorney whereby a registered agent (Gerli & Company) for the vessel is appointed.
• A Deletion Certificate from previous registry or a Waiver of the previous registry.
• Proof in the form of a Bill of Sale that the applicant is the owner of the yacht.
• Letter from the owner of the vessel certifying that the vessel shall not be used for commercial purposes.
